Celebrate Día de los niños, Día de los libros/Children's Day, Book Day, with an author visit by Caldecott-winning author and illustrator, Juana Martinez-Neal. Join us virtually for a brief reading and art demo as she shares with us her process of writing and illustrating, and the inspirations behind them. As author-illustrator, Martinez-Neal's debut picture book "Alma and How She Got Her Name" was awarded the 2019 Caldecott Honor. She also illustrated "La Princesa and the Pea," winner of the 2018 Pura Belpré Medal for Illustration, and "Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story," winner of the 2020 Robert F. Silbert Medal.
