Goleta Valley Library will hold a week-long celebration of literacy! From April 28th – May 1st, community members can pick up a free copy of Pat Mora’s book, "Book Fiesta!: Celebrate Children's Day/Book Day; Celebremos El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros," via Sidewalk Service. Each book will include a flyer for the bilingual online programs offered that week: a craft video, a how-to dessert cooking video, and a storytime reading of Book Fiesta!, which together form a series called “Crafts, Cake and Cuentos!” Patrons are encouraged to “Like” the videos in order to be entered into our prize drawings, which will be book bundles of bilingual children’s books from local publisher and community partner Seven Seas Press. On Saturday, May 1st we will hold a prize drawing from all who entered to conclude the week’s celebration of literacy for all. |
