Traditionally, Tibetan prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Prayer flags are colorful pieces of fabric with prayers inscribed on them often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks in the Himalayas to bless the environment around them. Prayer flags are believed to bring happiness, long life, prosperity and harmony. Prayer flags come in a traditional pattern of Blue, White, Red, Green, and Yellow. Each color represents the elements: blue/space, white/air, red/fire, green/water, and yellow/earth. |
