We will be exploring literacy using our 5 senses! We will kick-off Día! on the playground with a dance party at 1:30 using our sense of SOUND. Teachers will share how introducing vocabulary through music and movement can help children build their word bank. This is also a great way to burn off energy to have a calmer story time! We will have tummy time-story time! Reading books in black and white and bright colors and discussing how infants enjoy the black and white contrast and the pops of color can engage our older readers. We will have a storytelling of "The Nose Book" accompanied with an activity making scented play dough. We will have a storytelling of "If You Give A Moose A Muffin," following the reading, children will eat muffins with their parents. Other refreshments will be served. We are asking each child to make a book with their family. This book will celebrate your family culture or heritage. Families will get the opportunity to come read the book they have created with their child’s class on Monday, April 30th. When we get excited about books and reading, your children will follow suit. We would appreciate everyone’s involvement in this months fun adventure into literature. |
