Writing Policies and Procedures...
Policies and procedures are the nuts and bolts that keep chat service consistent and evenhanded. Real-time and online make this experience different from email and other forms of service. Your library's existing policies may not cover chat service. Online examples of policies and procedures written for individual libraries and cooperative partners can be compared with those in use at your library. Here are some sites and resources to explore. What happens next?
  1. You want to ensure that your policies support your service plan.
  2. But what if your rules of conduct are written only for in-library use?
  3. You decide to look at policy examples from other libraries.
